Pre-review Assessment

Before manuscripts are considered for peer review, they undergo a preliminary evaluation to assess their suitability for publication in the "Food Safety and Packaging". This assessment considers novelty and originality, plagiarism, relevance to journal scope and technical quality.

Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the pre-review assessment will be subjected to a Single-Blind Review process. This process involves anonymizing the manuscripts and sending them to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the EIC will make a decision regarding the manuscript's suitability for publication. Once a manuscript has successfully passed the peer review process and revisions, it will undergo a final review by the editorial board. Upon approval, the manuscript will be prepared for publication, including copyediting, formatting, and publication in an online edition of the journal.

Post-Acceptance Process

  • Upon acceptance, authors are required to transfer copyright of the manuscript to Urmia University Press.
  • All accepted articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) which allows users to read, copy, distribute and make derivative works for non-commercial purposes from the material, as long as the author of the original work is cited properly.
  • Once the revised manuscript is deemed acceptable, it will be prepared for publication. Authors will receive a proof copy for final review and corrections.
